Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,
Thank you so much for bringing the tradition of "The Elf On The Shelf" into our home. Ever since you left our new friend Jack the elf on our door step things have changed for the better here!!! Hailee is minding very well because she knows Jack flies to you to give you a daily update and she wants you to see how nice she can be to that little brother of hers. By the way, did you get the sea shell she left with Jack to deliver to you last night? Hailee was very excited to send it and I'm amazed at her natural ability to come up with a good bribe. Aiden is also trying to be on his best behavior however he needs to be reminded and have Jack pointed out to him a little more often than Hailee. I love that the first thing the kids wanna do when they wake up is find out where Jack's new spot for the day is. I know Jack is very fast because the first day after we got him he was able to move quicker than Hailee could even get down the stairs! I think it was a close call though so tell Jack to be careful and to make his visit and trip back here closer to the middle of the night before the kids wake up. Jack likes to pick the high places to watch the fam but Hailee is a little guard making certain everyone knows they cant touch him because it will take away some of his magic and he then wont be able to return to see Santa.

So thanks again Santa!!! We are trying to be very good here in the Dalton household in hopes of some good lute this Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Hailee's Dance Pics 2009

I got Hailee's dance pics back for 2009 and they turned out so cute!!! The photographer did a great job and Hailee loves to get her picture taken so the combo worked out really well. Hailee loved dance and can't wait to get started with her new class this Fall.

This was Hailee's pose idea... :) It looks like a little ballerina that has to go to the bathroom and turned out to be one of my favorites!!

One of Hailee's favorite parts of pictures is to dress up in her pretty dance clothes and wear make-up! She is such a girl... I love it!! I remember picture days and dance recitals growing up. I think I can still smell the hairspray- freeze and shine from Paul Mitchell will take me back in a second! I loved that I got to wear lipstick- how my Mom could tell I would sneak and add more I could never figure out. I remember how the mascara would tickle as my Mom put it on my bottom lashes making me giggle. "Hold still!" she would always say. I remember white tights, don't kneel or get the bottoms dirty and "Don't wrinkle that tutu!". I had to laugh when I found myself saying the same things.. just like my mother. I think my greatest memory of pictures, recitals and other special occasions besides the butterflies in my stomach and looking my best was that my family was always there and ready to celebrate after in my honor. I hope I can keep that going for my kids.

Good job this year Hailee!!! We love you!

Happy Birthday Hailee!!

Dear Hailee-bug,

(You really do think bug is your middle name... ) You have grown up so much in this last year I just cant even believe it!! You have this sweet little personality with a love for the adventure in life. You find ways to make life fun which is one of the things I love the most about you. It makes me excited to see what "adventures" you will come up with in the future as you continue to grow. I think I have noticed the biggest change in you over the last year than I have in other years. You have been involved in so many activities and are so talented! You tumbled so well in your tumbling recital, danced beautifully up on the big stage for dance, hit and threw the ball in t-ball and realized that you can run REALLY fast around those bases!! You also graduated from pre-school and absolutely loved your teacher and all the friends you met. You are so excited to start at the "big" school next week. You like to tease your little brother like crazy but stand up for him when it counts. I love that you get so defensive of how anyone else treats him knowing that you are the only bully that soon to be bigger than you guy can have.

I still remember the day that you were born. You looked so beautiful with those big eyes. You have been a wonderful journey since then and I love sharing so many sweet stories about you growing to be the big 5. You love to hear everything about when you were a baby and always tell me you wish you were a baby again. I think because there's part of you that just loves to be wrapped up in your soft pink blanket and held, sang to, and rocked in the rocking chair. One thing I have realized through being your Mom is that same special love that was felt when I first held you in my arms is still just as strong and amazing now. I tell everyone I know that being a mother is the best thing in the whole world. I never imagined it to be what it really is... it's just absolutely amazing.

Happy Birthday my big girl.... Love you darlin!

Wasatch Back Relay!!!

Okay so there has been a lull in my postings for a few reasons... June has been a crazy month!! Don't worry all you crazy fans of mine I will be catching you all up on my hectic life!!LOL First off... Wasatch Back (June 19-20th)!!! We're talking 188 miles of insane terrain ran consistently for thirty hours by 12 runners from Logan to Park City!! It was an event filled with lots of running, drinking water, honking and cheering on your team members while they are running, crazy dancing, flashing, yes flashing, one meal consisting of sketchy school cafeteria spaghetti at midnight, and no sleep, no sleep, no sleep, no food and no sleep!

Our team name and way of transportation. Our name was the best and got lots of laughs.

See the one in the middle. . . ya, her name is KAMILLE THAYNE!!! She's the crazy that talked me into this shin-dig.

Here we are coming through the finish line as a team. Everyone did a great job and I think it is fair to say that this race pushed everyone and felt like a major accomplishment.

Way to go gals!! Rain and shine, extreme hot and wet freezing cold, sweat, vomit, more vomit, but no tears!!! No blood either but there was a major twisted ankle. Everyone gave it all they had and did awesome!!

"Girl Power"

The theme for Hailee's Recital this year was "Girl Power". Hailee's tap dance was to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and her ballet was to "You Are My Sunshine". I wasn't quite sure how Hailee would react walking out onto a big stage with tons of people watching her but she did great!!! She danced the whole thing with a smile on her face.

Hailee's class. . . the itty bitty gals of the show.

Hailee and Kate

Here are some cute shots of Hailee, Kate, and Ellie. .

Thanks to the Fam for coming to support Hailee. She was so excited to see you and you made her feel so special. When I was back stage with Hailee just before she preformed I told her who was out there waiting to watch her dance. She set up all her stuff and then said back to me everyone by name, so excited. I know she's just little but I also know she will remember the support and how special you made her feel forever.

Loves from Grandma and Grandpa

Hailee saw Grandpa standing on stage and she turned to me and said "Mom, I wanna go dance with Papa Laine!" She ran right over to him and jumped in his arms.

Hailee and her aunts:)

I think by this point she just wanted to leave. . lol. She is sad because her tummy hurts and wants some ice cream. . .

The family went out for ice cream to celebrate. Hailee's tummy started feeling lots better after eating a grilled cheese and a huge dish of bubble gum ice cream.

Hailee you did such a great job! I am so proud of you and everything you are doing right now. You are getting big so fast!! You looked and danced beautifully! It is so fun to watch you grow. You are such a joy in our life. I talk about you every day and how having you is one of the best things in the whole world and absolutely amazing. You really are little miss. . . amazing.

Love you.
